Trimming

Trimming your beard can be a daunting task, but fear not! I’ve got you covered with some essential tips to help you maintain that glorious facial hair.

  1. When to Trim: If you’re growing your beard for the first time, give it at least a month before you even think about trimming. This allows enough time for your beard to fill in, and people will start noticing your new look. Around this stage, you’re not cutting length; instead, you’re defining your beard shape. So, after a month, it’s usually a good time to shape your beard.

  2. Shaping Your Beard:

    • Cheek Line: Keep your cheek line as high as naturally possible. Trim away any rogue hairs that grow higher than the bulk of your beard. The line should connect from your sideburn to the top of your mustache.
    • Back Line: The back line runs off the back of your sideburn straight down to the bottom of your beard. You can choose to square it off or go for a rounded style—it’s up to you!
    • Neck Line: Avoid trimming your beard too high on your jawline. This short and tight look might be trendy, but it can make your beard appear shrunken. Trim where your head connects to your neck.
  3. Preparation:

    • Start with a clean, natural beard. Moisture helps your beard sit naturally, so at least give it a rinse in the sink before trimming.
    • Use a Beard Comb or Beard Brush to shape your beard.
